The Miami Heat's 27-Game Win Streak...Nothing to See Here...All is Well...Smile Everyone

There's not a lot for me to say here. I'll just provide the stats, and you can make your own conclusions regarding the Heat's 27-game win streak. What follows are the Heat's 27 winning games, in reverse order (from most recent to the first game in the "streak"): who they played, the final score, and then how many free throws and attempts each team received. Look at the numbers, and ask yourself where the referees' allegiance has been.

Key: Game: Heat FTM-FTA, Opponents FTM-FTA, (Final Score). An asterisk (*) after the final score indicates a game in which the Heats' Opponent had more free throw attempts (it only happened six times, four of which were road games).

Grand Totals over the 27 games:

Heat: 525-652, Opponents: 429-542 for a total difference of 96-110

Or a per game average of Heat: 19.4-24.1, Opponents: 15.9-20.1

It all came to a crashing halt in a game in Chicago versus the Bulls....in which the Heat lost by four (97-101) but had more trips to the line yet again: 16 for 23 compared to the Bulls 13 for 18. Will this bias appear again in the playoffs? I'd venture a guess: YES.
